Confort Réunis
an eco-responsible commitment to sustainable tourism
Un Séjour Naturel et Responsable
Les Chalets du Lac Belcaire are fully committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR), with concrete actions to reduce their carbon footprint and preserve the exceptional natural environment that surrounds them.
Since 2024, the campsite has been actively collaborating with ADEME (the French Agency for Ecological Transition). As part of this, a comprehensive study was conducted to assess the environmental impact of the campsite’s operations. This work led to an in-depth examination of current practices and their environmental impacts, with the aim of sustainably improving them and strengthening the consistency of our environmental approach.
Among the key measures, particular attention has been paid to the rational management of water, an essential resource, thanks to:
- The installation of dual-flush toilets in the toilets,
- Rainwater collectors for watering green spaces,
- Time-delayed taps to limit waste.
The campsite also works to reduce waste and limit single-use products. Each chalet is equipped with:
- Washable cloths and sponges, to replace disposable products,
- Ecological and natural cleaning products, respectful of both your health and the environment.
A Strong Commitment to the Environment
Other concrete commitments reinforce this approach:
- Significant greening of the site with more than 350 trees and shrubs planted, promoting biodiversity and absorbing CO₂,
- Gentle and respectful developments of the landscape: footpaths, picnic areas and meeting spaces in the heart of nature, designed without concreting,
- Wooden-clad chalets, perfectly integrated into the mountain environment and designed for a stay in harmony with nature,
- An active awareness-raising approach, with workshops, conferences and meetings with local experts, to encourage responsible ecotourism.
Staying at the Chalets du Lac Belcaire means choosing a vacation that combines comfort, nature and respect for the environment, in an authentic, calm and committed setting.

Comfortable and Responsible Infrastructure
At the heart of our campsite, our restaurant embodies our commitment to eco-responsible, local, and high-quality cuisine. We prioritize short supply chains, working hand in hand with regional merchants, farmers, and suppliers to offer you fresh, delicious, and environmentally friendly dishes.
Our dishes are entirely homemade: from crispy fries prepared on site from the famous Pays de Sault potato, renowned for its taste, to pizzas generously topped with local and seasonal produce.
When it comes to drinks, we showcase our region’s artisanal expertise. We offer beers from La Brasserie du Grand Bison, located in Lavelanet. This independent and creative brewery produces craft beers with rich and varied flavors, brewed with passion in the Ariège Pyrenees.
You can also discover Fontestorbes lemonades, a local company based in Bélesta, renowned for its natural and original drinks, such as Mountain Cola or Fontestea, a refreshing alternative to industrial sodas, made from pure water from the Fontestorbes spring.
Committed to a responsible approach, we apply rigorous waste management: limiting disposable items, using reusable containers and systematic selective sorting.
Come and enjoy homemade, authentic and environmentally friendly cuisine in a warm, natural setting.
Waste sorting: a collective commitment for the planet
Waste management is a priority at our campsite. Aware of our impact on the environment, we make every effort to enable everyone to efficiently sort their waste and thus actively participate in protecting the natural environment around us.
To do this, we have equipped each accommodation with:
- A bio-bucket for easily collecting organic waste, to be emptied into the composters present on the campsite, including a worm composter which allows rapid and natural decomposition thanks to the action of worms.
- A reusable bag dedicated to selective sorting, to facilitate the separation of recyclable waste.
The composted waste is then used as natural fertilizer for the campsite’s plantations and green spaces, thus contributing to a virtuous circle of respect for the environment.
Clearly identified sorting areas are also accessible throughout the campsite to allow for a simple, everyday, but essential action.
Because sorting waste is everyone’s business and a crucial factor in limiting our ecological footprint, we encourage each camper to adopt these good habits during their stay. Together, let’s make our vacation a relaxing time while respecting our environment.
